War Cry!

Reading of the Day 9/24/25: Lamentations 2-4

Lamentations 2:19: Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.

Our church leadership is currently in the Philippines, and I had no idea how desperately some of the people there truly need God's help and hope. Many of the people they are reaching are just children, and some of the locations are not even full villages...they just streets...and every day, their food, water & safety is in question. If you are not already connected on Facebook, just search "Gina Pietrzak" and that's where I share some posts from our church and the wonderful work they are doing, both here and abroad. This above Scripture really struck a cord in my heart as I prayed for these children. I feel so burdened for them, and for all missionaries who bring Jesus to these types of places. I feel burdened to do so much more...yet in the words of this Scripture, I found out the best way every one of us can make a huge difference-crying out in prayer! As these children cry out in the night, WE must cry out in the night to God on their behalf! As they cry out words of sorrow and fear, WE must cry out words of love and protection over them! Their heart cry becomes our war cry! It's one thing to cry in feeling bad for these dear children, but it's quite another to cry out to Jesus, fighting for them and claiming their victory and claiming their salvation! As they hide in the shacks they've built, we must hide in our prayer closets! They may not see us. We may not be able to send a package. But they WILL feel our prayers and SEE Jesus! Prayer connects us all together. Please continue to join with me in prayer for the Philippines, these precious children, and our church family who is fighting against many strongholds (including typhoon weather) in doing what God has courageously called them to do.
