Bailing Out

Reading of the Day: Isaiah 12-14

Isaiah 12:3: Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

How many of you have been dealing with flooding recently? We have! And it's definitely been quite the ongoing project. Drawing, or bailing, water out of the basement has been something we've had to do every few days with these thunderstorms, and so we found it was time to get to the source. We need to find a way for this to not happen again so we don't have to draw any water out of the basement & it could be dry and stay that way! That was my rant & segway into today's topic, which put a light-hearted spin on bailing water, and so I hope it does for you as well if you're also dealing with flooding. There are wells we are all invited to joyfully draw from together-and those are the wells of salvation! Instead of bailing water for it to go away, there are wells that can bail us out of a sinful life! The Lord's rivers of everlasting water bail us out instead of us bailing out floodwater! His waters never run dry and are an eternal nourishment to our souls! The overflow of love we feel as we receive His Spirit floods into our hearts, and out comes a new language bubbling over that we've never heard before...it may run over, but it never runs out! And that's because The Spirit IS Jesus in US! So next time we start getting anxious or upset because of some flooding, let's allow it to be a reminder that God is in control. He is in control of that water and that situation. He is the Creator of that water, and He has a water greater than we could imagine...one that will bring us out of the stresses of this life and into a peaceful life with Him, according to His plan of salvation! Repenting, getting baptized & receiving His Spirit are the first steps to that new, refreshing, beautiful life with Him! So let's bail out!
